AppraisalsWhat you may not realize is that there is no governing agency to control who can and cannot be a jewelry appraiser. As such, there is no need for credentials of certifications of any kind. Considering this, you can imagine that many people in the industry write appraisals who do not know the correct process for evaluation or have the expertise to properly evaluate jewelry. Michael Abushakra and Savannah Idol are both Graduate Gemologist of GIA (Gemological Institute of America), as well as, Certified Diamond Graders through the Independent Jewelers Organization. Both employees strive to stay current with the market and continuously expand their knowledge on all subjects. Michael is a member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, the largest, most reputable association dedicated to jewelry appraisals. As a member, he assures all employees abide by their Code of Ethics to ensure that they are doing
everything to the best of their ability. Michael and each employee strive to provide the most current and accurate valuation possible to every client that walks through their doors.
On top of professional, accurate terminology and standards, Brynn Elizabeth Jewelers, Inc. writes appraisals in a detailed manner. The details are very important in the unfortunate event there is a loss or dispute, the item can be replaced with exactly what was lost. The thorough appraisals include color, cut, and clarity grading of stones, as well as tone, hue, and saturation grading for colored stones. Accurate measurements and weights will be stated on the appraisals with full descriptions of each item.

RepairsThe unfortunate truth about jewelry repairs is that most are poorly executed. Most people have no idea because the work is typically microscopic. Without a trained eye, owners don’t often see the flaws in repair due to mistakes or shortcuts. Unfortunately, they will pay the price later.
At Brynn Elizabeth Jewelers, Inc., we will always be honest with you about your repair. We guarantee that all repair services will be completed with integrity. Michael has been repairing and making jewelry for 17 years. Tyson Lucas, the newest employee to BEJ, has been repairing jewelry for 27 years. Together there is very little that they cannot do. It is not uncommon that we repair an item that multiple other jewelers said was unrepairable. In most cases, the jeweler was either scared or insufficiently trained or equipped to repair the item. The jewelers at Brynn Elizabeth Jewelers, Inc. are masters at formulating creative, out of the box ways to accomplish difficult repairs, using the latest technology to ensure they are done RIGHT.
When you drop off your jewelry at BEJ, all items will be checked in properly with a full description and declared value before you leave. You will receive a hard copy receipt including a picture of each item, as well as a break down on cost. Each item is stored securely in our safe overnight and once completed, the item will stay in the safe until it is picked up. Our turnaround time for most projects is between a week to a week and a half, but we do offer expedited 24-hour service for an additional charge. Your items will NEVER leave our shop. All services are done in house and handled with care throughout the entire process.
To obtain pricing on jewelry repairs please visit Brynn Elizabeth Jewelers, Inc. located at 7122 Beach Drive, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. Each item must be seen by an employee at BEJ to receive an estimate for the repair. Quotes will NOT be given over the phone. We take pride in our work at Brynn Elizabeth Jewelers, Inc. and without seeing the item in hand, it is impossible to give an accurate quote.
Owner Michael Abushakra and employee Savannah Idol have not only a passion, but a natural talent for creating beautiful, functional, and completely custom pieces that you will not find anywhere else. Bringing a piece of jewelry to life that was once just a figment of a client’s imagination is one of the greatest joys in the business.
Ask around and you’ll quickly find that people have different interpretations of what custom jewelry really is. Many times, jewelers see this process as simply ordering pre-made individual parts and assembling them together to make an item. At Brynn Elizabeth Jewelers, Inc., however, we see these options as simply being customized, not custom made. Our idea of custom jewelry is vastly different.
We insist on making all custom pieces and all parts in-house when possible. The only way to ensure that your final piece is of the highest quality is to control the production process right here in our store located in Ocean Isle Beach. You can see the important role this process has in our business as soon as you walk through the door. By creating each piece individually, we can ensure the end-result is a true reflection of your dream design while also being made to the highest quality and integrity.
Brynn Elizabeth Jewelers, Inc. highly trained staff know quality and they know how to correctly produce it. Mass-produced pieces and elements leave other jewelry retailers with zero control over the quality of the items they sell. Buying a custom-made piece from highly skilled craftsmen, however, ensures longevity and durability of every single element. In the event something should happen to your custom piece of jewelry, repairs are always done free of charge for our creations.
